 Welcome
to Buckingham's Akron office local website showcasing our Akron
lawyers. Our office has been in its new home for a
full year now. Anyone who comes here loves the new building
– it’s been an almost universal reaction. And the location
is very convenient, with easy access from two exits off the
Interstate, as well as the restaurants and other amenities
that are nearby. In addition, the new space is well planned
and equipped, giving us better facilities for meetings and
enhancing our ability to communicate with clients both
face-to-face and electronically.
Our reputation within the profession has grown steadily over
the years, and increasing numbers of attorneys have joined
us! We expect to continue to grow – not for the sake of
growth, but to add people in specific areas of expertise to
better serve our clients.
Our attorneys and staff are active in the community, as
always. The organizations and events we’ve been involved in
are too numerous to list, so let me offer a sampling. We
sponsored the Akron Urban League, Akron Art Museum, American
Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Crown Point Farm
and Ecology, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation,
MetroParks Serving Summit County, Stewart's Caring Place and
Summa Hospital in their various initiatives.

Workers' Compensation Practice Group:
The Employment Law
group represents employers with regard to labor and employment relations
including collective bargaining and grievance, arbitration, defense
against union organizing campaigns, employment discrimination
litigation, ERISA litigation, wrongful discharge litigation, unfair
competition and trade secret litigation. Our attorneys represent clients
before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor
Relations Board, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the
Ohio Civil Rights Commission, and the State Employment Relations Board.
In addition, the Employment Law group provides consulting on personnel
practices, wage-hour matters and unemployment compensation, as well as
DWRF issues, handicap reimbursement and subrogation. The Workers'
Compensation section of the group represents state-funded, self-insured
and public employers before the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, the
Industrial Commission, the Court of Common Pleas, the Court of Appeals
and the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Practice Group:
Our full-service litigation group is
experienced in alternate dispute resolution, family law, complex
